Competition: Small Schools Football Level 2 School Games
Scheduled For: Wednesday 27th September 2023Competition Description: Purpose of event - A competitive sports event - Schools should select students that are prepared to compete with other schools and progress through the County competitive pathway.
Small school definition;
120 or less in KS2
Team Criteria
Year 5/6 Best Team
7 a side
Squads of no more than 10 players
Trophy for overall team winner
Rules

Pitch
Mini soccer pitch 60 x 40 yards with goals 12ft x 6ft
Number of Players
Games will be 7-a-side with a maximum squad of 10 players
Start of Play
The team which is ready to play first will gain the kick off for the first half.
Offside
There is no offside.
Throw Ins
Normal throw ins apply
Guidance for Goalkeepers
The goalkeeper cannot pick the ball up from a back pass or throw-in, an indirect free kick will be awarded if the goalkeeper takes more than 6 seconds to release the ball from hands.
Goalkeepers can either kick the ball from hands, distribute by throwing or rolling the ball out or placing by the ball on the floor.
Free Kicks
All free kicks are direct – opponents must be 4.5m from the ball.
Substitutions
Substitutions can be made at anytime with the referee’s permission.
The roll on/off substitution rule will apply.
Any of the other players may change places with the goalkeeper, provided that the referee is informed before the change is made and provided also that the change is made during a stoppage in the game.
All players must wear shinpads
