FA Active Play Through Storytelling/FA After School Club Programme

Friday 31st January 2020

Venue
The Deanes School Sports Centre

Summary of Course
What is FA APTS Programme? The FA Active Play Through Storytelling course has been developed to support “the beginner girl” aged 5-8 in developing their physical literacy, speaking and listening skills through creative play and storytelling. Over the course of the sessions, children will have the opportunity to achieve the learning objectives based on Key Stage 1 Literacy and PE with a focus on developing their fundamental movement skills and speaking and listening skills. What is the FA After School Club Programme? The new FA After School Club programme inspired by Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy uses super-human powers, high-tech gadgets and super heroes to truly capture the imagination of children of all ages. It uses stories to inspire girls to get active and engage in sport with their friends with the sessions aiming to support girls’ in their physical development and introduce them to football, whilst developing their leadership skills. All activities are age-appropriate and designed to provide girls with a positive introduction to sport. Both programmes are FREE for Primary School staff to access who are in a FA GFSP area and will include face to face delivery. All course attendees will receive new, creative and fun resources to use in their schools to help girls to become more engaged and inspired to participate in physical activity. All girls attending the sessions will receive a “take home” resource. This has been designed to help girls share the stories with their parent/carer, re-enact their favourite part, draw or write down their thoughts and give parents/carers the opportunity to practise and play with them. The aim is to embed the activities within the home environment, supporting the recommended daily target of 60 active minutes of play per day. 2 x 3 hour courses
