Using Castle Point & Rochford School Sport Partnership RSS Feeds

You can receive the latest postings direct to your browser or email inbox via RSS, Really Simple Syndication.
This allows you to stay up to date with whatever has been posted recently in the News, Competitions and Courses section of our website.

What Is RSS?

RSS is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.

RSS solves a problem for people who regularly use the web. It allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually. You ensure your privacy, by not needing to join each site's email newsletter. The number of sites offering RSS feeds is growing rapidly and includes big names like Yahoo News.

How To Use Our RSS Feeds

On the News, Competitions and Courses pages of our website you will see the RSS icon and a link next to it asking you to subscribe to that particular feed.
Once clicked, you can add the feed as a bookmark in your favourite browser. When you visit your bookmarks you will see the latest bookmarks that relate to the latest content posted on the site for that chosen area. The feeds are titled clearly so you know what you are subscribing to.

Note: RSS Browser Feeds are currently only supported by Internet Explorer 7 or higher and Firefox, Safari and Opera Browsers.

Additionally, if your email program allows you to add RSS feeds, such as Apple Mail or Thunderbird, you can choose to add the RSS feed as an additional mail inbox. The advantage of this is that new News Courses or Competitions will appear in your new mail when you get your new mail! Simply click on the link given in the feed and you will be taken to the Castle Point & Rochford School Sport Partnership site to view that item. Simple!

If you use Outlook Express or Outlook, you might want to check out RSS Popper to add this functionality to your email program.
